what solutions are good for conducting electricity during the elctrolysis of water?

I'm conducting an experiment on the speed of electrolysis of water with various solutions. Can anyone give me a few good ones? I don't want any solutions that will be effected by the electrolysis, or at least not ones that will turn into gas with the hydrogen & oxygen

1. peolple use baking soda (NaHCO3), table salt (NaCl), if they are using chemicals from home. they use KNO3 or NaNO3 if they @ school
